We only collect what we need to answer you and run this website:

• Contact form. Your name, email address, company name (optional), the topic you pick and your message.
• Live chat. Messages you send through the chat widget, plus any name or email you choose to give, and technical details the chat provider collects (such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed during the chat).
• Direct communication. Anything you send us by email or phone.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser, requested URL and time of request, to keep the site secure and working.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. Please don't include passwords, payment details or other sensitive data in your messages.

• To reply to your enquiry, scope your project and send quotes or proposals.
• To deliver and support services you have engaged us for.
• To keep the website secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we process your information because you asked us to (taking steps before entering a contract), because we have a legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and operating a secure website, or because the law requires it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

The nerdwaretech.com site itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Our live chat widget, provided by tawk.to, uses cookies and local storage to keep your chat session going between pages and to recognise returning visitors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the chat widget may not work properly, but the rest of the site will.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Vercel, our website host.
• Supabase, which stores the messages sent through our contact form.
• tawk.to, which provides the live chat widget.
• Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces on this site. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety or those of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We and our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

We keep enquiry and chat records for as long as needed to respond to you and manage any resulting business relationship, generally no longer than three years after our last contact, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our databases. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. This site links to other websites, including our own products such as VirtualTry.shop and Lookscraft, and to social networks such as LinkedIn and Facebook. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
